🖤 VTG Black Silk Velvet LBD with Satin Watteau Flounce Sz XS/S

Without a doubt, you will steal the show in this vintage 1950s-60s little black dress in the richest black silk velvet and satin. Handmade by a home seamstress named Karen Henning, surely for herself or her daughter to wear to a party, it is very well made and tailored. She really knew her stuff! This dress features a high, fitted neckline at the front and a deep V in the back, ending in a satin bow which tops the semi-attached satin flounce, which flows down the back, fitted to the waist and then full to the hem. It is equal parts drama and elegance, and all gorgeous. The dress closes up the back with a hook and loop, locking metal zipper, and a snap for the bow. It has grown-on 3/4 length sleeves with a satin cuff, and a satin band under the gathered bust. This dress is in very good vintage condition, with a bit of wear to the velvet at some seams, likely there from the moment it was sewn. Velvet is a tricky material to work with! This dress is a size XS or S, and measures: length 42", center neck to sleeve cuff 27", bust 32-34", waist 24-25", hips 36-38". There is no stretch.
