Hand-Painted Chinese Porcelain Temple Jar Lamp: Cobalt, Rose Tones. Shade in photos IS NOT INCLUDED. The birds depicted on this temple jar are referred to as “birds of paradise” and “pheasants”. The avian art is repeated on front and rear faces of the jar. Their pastel colors against the cobalt background of the jar are complemented by lovely florals in richer values of the birds’ colors. Moriage paint technique adds depth and texture to the artwork. A wooden with resin feel, footed base is finished in a warm mahogany tone. Fittings are naturally aged brushed brass, with a circle finial. The throat cap has tarnish spotting consistent with the age of the lamp. This lamp will arrive disassembled and you will need to rescrew the hardware back. This lamp can be used just as a decorative jar without the hardware. Lamp Dimensions: Overall height, 34”. Height of porcelain only 15", Jar diameter, 7.5” in middle and 5" at the base before the wood. Base diameter, 6”. Throat plate, 5.5”. Cord, 73” (Brown). On bottom is "S 4 1/4" writing. Shade IS NOT INCLUDED, but dimensions and description are provided to assist buyer in locating a suitable shade locally or online. It is white shantung-like fabric stretched on a traditional bell shaped frame. Ribs and edges are welted in the same fabric. It is lined with white taffeta. Dimensions: Top diameter, 7”.
