Vintage Equestrian 3D Horse Scene Trapunto Puffed Fabric Textile Art. Dated 1966. This fabulous mid century Trapunto textile art is framed in a gold gilt and green wood frame. The background is a cream color with scenes of barns, school/church, trees, flowers and horses gracing. Red and green glitter was placed on trees and flowers to highlight. The horses only are 3D. Very good condition. Frame 21 1/4" T x 25 1/2" W x 1" D. Art 18" x 22". 52". Trapunto is a method of quilting also known as stuffed work. The tight stitching done around the stuffed area raises the design up and creates a 3D lifelike piece of textile art that brings the scene to life. Dated on the back 1966 and written noting the person who added more color and stuffed the piece. The fabric has a couple of small stains, the frame a few nicks and backing a few tears. Small areas mostly to the side have risen up from the backing which was glued down. No odor. Wire to hang. Weight 2 lbs. 12 oz.
