Vintage- Hattie Carnegie Signed Triple Strand Varied Glass Bead Necklace w/ J-Hook Clasp
Many pieces made by Hattie Carnegie are unsigned. The first mark was found in January of 1919 and nothing following the 80s. Collectors know that her jewelry also can be marked Drega. A variety of designers created pieces for Carnegie and vice versa (KJL, Alexis Kirk of Kirk’s Folly among many others).
Carnegie jewelry much like Hobe, had strict manufacturing supervision, was crafted, and so well made the pieces rarely break, and are uniquely made.
Pre- 1960s necklace, signed Carnegie in script on both sides of the gold tone decorative clasp/ strand separators. This beauty features 3 strands of multi-shaped glass beads made to look like black amber, gold, blood stone, agate stone beads with small embossed gold separators. They truly look like real stone, and I have 2 versions.
The necklace is in amazing condition- Please see the pics. What looks like wear on the gold beads is actually how the beads were meant to look according to the Hattie Carnegie book.
The shortest strand is about 14” long with a tail of about 3” to extend it.
