Another beauty pulled out of my Dad's closet! This one just screams 1970s, when these fat ties were the order of the day! My grandparents lived in Brooklyn from the late-1950s to 1985 when they moved. So I'm pretty sure my grandmother, who was an A&S (Abraham & Straus) fanatic would have bought this for my Dad there, most likely in the '70s based on the design. There is no material tag, it is probably a knit wool-blend of some sort. It is in really great condition except for the label being loose on one side, shown in last photo. There are also a couple tiny holes in the lining of the blade, which you can see in photo 2.
Measurements are shown in photos 4-5: 4.5" at widest point & total length of 54" (27" x 2)
You can Google Abraham & Straus (department store) if you're not familiar with it - it has a storied history in Brooklyn.
