VTG LEWIS EVENING CLUTCH

A fabulous black taffeta evening clutch from the Lewis Company with the famous crown logo. This is from the 1950's and is gathered/pleated to a top structured metal frame. The stunning closure is a raised gold tone layered petal flower with a pearl center. The interior is a high quality soft black satin with the logo and name in gold. The interior also has a patch pocket with metallic gold piping and holds the small mirror with the logo. Below the mirror pocket is a small slip pocket that had contained a comb which is missing. It measures 12" wide, 6.5" in height and a depth of approx 1.25". The interior has a few tiny lipstick marks and the pearl has lost a little coating but overall it's in wonderful vintage condition! The Lewis Company produced bags in the 1940's, 50's and 60's and were from Los Angeles and New York City. This bag has a substantial weight and is a high quality vintage piece. Thanks for looking!
