VTG (NWT) 70s Sisal Tooled Leather Boho Woven Bag

Perfect sisal market bag with leather shoulder strap and with rare hand-tooled leather top. Gorgeous tooled latch. This was handcrafted in Kenya in the 70s from hand-harvested sisal fibre, hand-dyed, hand-woven, etc. The basket weavers are Kenyan women from remote rural villages, who have learned the art of weaving from their mothers and grandmothers. Such a beaut! Vintage piece but never used.
