Val St Lambert Cut Crystal Martini Glass Stemware, Set of 9, Gold Gilt Grapevine

This is a lovely Set of 9 Cut Crystal Martini Glasses with Gold Gilt Edge in uncommon decoration of gold gilt Grapevine design. Circa 1940-50 MidCentury Modern. The stems and bowls of the glasses are beautifully cut as you can see in the pictures and the video. Each glass measures: 6 7/8" tall, 4.5" diameter, holds 4 oz for martini and holds 7oz ounces of liquid to the brim. CONDITION: There is one glass that is noted with slight wear of the gold leaf on the rim and and another with a micro size chip, check pictures. There are some tiny scratches on the underside of the bases, where they sit on the table. These scratches are negligible. The others have no notable issues. They were made by the wonderful Belgium Val Saint Lambert manufacturer. HISTORY: Val Saint Lambert, a Belgian crystal glassware manufacturer, was founded in 1826 in an abandoned Abbey. The founders, M. Kemlin, a chemist, and M. Leliѐvre, of Vonêche crystal works, built new workshops and houses for their employees who quickly became skilled experts in glassware manufacturing. Being a major Belgian glassware company, Val Saint Lambert initially created many cut crystal pieces.
