Van Cleef & Arpels Pashmina

This is an extremely unique item from Van Cleef & Arpels. Founded in the latter 1800's, Van Cleef & Arpels has led the way in jewelry design and inspirational concepts for over 125 years. One of their most amazing feats was seemingly giving movement to designs that included ballerinas and fairies in different flights of fancy. The illusion of winged figures and swirling skirts were magically created by artisans using a technique called "mystery setting" allowing gems to sit side by side and curve with no metal interference. The fairy became very special through the years due to its popularity and experienced a dynamic resurgence in 2008 with the Feerie wristwatch in a fabulous shade of blue. In 2023, the timepiece reemerged in shades of pale pink featuring once again a fairy with a diamond wand marking the passing of time. But I digress... This pashmina was not for sale, but a gift for special clients of the brand. It has never been worn. On the bottom of one side sits the outline of the fairy on the 2008 Feerie wristwatch in a brilliant turquoise silkscreen against a field of jet. Bursting forth from her wand are dozens and dozens of hand applied flat-back crystals. They disperse as they get further from the fairy but run throughout.
