A rare find, this necklace is crafted of antique Venetian "Skunk Eye" glass trading beads that were made by glass-makers in Venice, Italy, between the late 1800s and early 1900s. The history of the Venetian-made glass trade beads goes back to the early 12th century. These beads were used by early European explorers in Africa and the Americas, in exchange for goods, services, and slaves. In excellent condition.
