Very Rare 1950s Japanses Lantern Salt and Pepper Shakers.

These are so interesting. They were purchased in Japan in the early 1950's. They were not sold in the USA. Both have the original corks. They are about 3 1/4 inches tall, about 1 1/4 inches wide and a little over 1 inch deep. They are both lanterns, one has a red outline and the other has a black outline on the top. They both have made in Japan printed on the bottom. They both have pictures of Geisha Girls on them. They both have gold paint on the top. The black one has been repaired (poorly) by the owners but this is how things were repaired back in the 50s. It looks like they used sweet cream or industrial glue for the repair.
