This is a Butte Knit vintage skirt. No tag on the skirt, but the matching blazer shows the brand/tag. The suit can be purchased together. But I am selling the skirt separate and will keep the jacket since I cannot wear this skirt because it's too small.
Butte Knit was a division of the Jonathan Logan Corporation, which was, in the 1960s, the largest manufacturer of women’s clothing in the world. Butte Knit was established by David Schwartz in 1959 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. It was the first company to produce doubleknit fabric in the US. The Butte Knit factory was unique in that it was a vertical factory, in which the entire process from the spinning of the yarn to the finished garment was produced in one place. This was my grandma's skirt which was altered to fit me 20 years ago.
Please check measurements. I would say it is a size XS. There are some stains on the skirt which I think will come out in dry-cleaning. Hence the skirt is priced very low in case the stains do not come out. It will look fabulous with tall black boots in the winter.
