These earrings are 1/2" diameter. they are possibly bronze with "paste" jewels. paste means highly polished glass that is cut to look like gemstones. This type of jewelry was highly popular in Georgian and Victorian eras. sometimes the maker would put paper behind the stone setting to enhance the stone. These earrings have paper behind the setting
