Interesting majolica teapot made in Japan (as written on the bottom), probably in the late 1950s, decorated with a raised bunch of grapes, and vine leaves on both sides. The handle and the spout imitate branches, the handle of the lid is shaped like grape grains.
Particularly colorful, it combines brown, bright yellow, Provence blue, green and the dark purple of grape.
Very good vintage condition (zero chip). Extensive crazing on the entire piece, and hairline cracks on the bottom, though the piece appears structurally sound. This being said, I wouldn’t use this teapot to serve tea, but keep it for decorative purposes and/or as a piece of collection.
Dimensions: height 6” ½, width 11”.
