Victor Borge Comedy in Music 1973 LP - Sealed Collector's Series
Sealed brand new conditon.
Born Børge Rosenbaum in 1909 to Copenhagen Jewish parents, the Clown Prince of Denmark, Victor Borge was a child prodigy who took piano lessons from age two. He gave his first recital at eight and was awarded a full scholarship to the Royal Danish Academy of Music just a year later. His first major concert was in 1926 but by 1933 Borge switched to a comedy revue act.
Victor toured Europe during the balance of the '30s, using anti-3rd Reich jokes in his routines. When the Blitzkrieg rolled into Denmark in 1940, Borge was performing in Sweden. He escaped to Finland and traveled to America on the last ship to leave that country. With only $20 in his pocket and unable to speak a word of English, Borge's intense study of American movies taught him the language. Within a year, he was able to joke with American audiences and was a regular guest on Rudy Vallee's radio show. Bing Crosby hired him for the Kraft Music Hall and Victor's career skyrocketed from there: film roles, his own radio program and a contract with COLUMBIA Records followed.
