Victorian Scraps Die Cut Gift Tags - Old Print Factory

In the 1880’s, women collected pretty colorful pictures and pasted them in scrapbooks. When the Christmas tree became more popular in the homes, the women used these pictures from their books to decorate the tree, thereby the term “Scraps”. In the 1890’s, the German printers added tinsel, angel hair and glitter to the scraps creating the first “Victorian Scraps Ornaments” – known today as die-cuts.
