The makers mark is definitely not Black Hills gold. But the jeweler in this case is one of the finest. I like to give the history of these pieces to explain their true value. This jeweler was working in the seventies and the Americans were enjoying a love affair with black hills gold. so he took out his own version of the style calling it his grapes and vines line. One striking difference is that much of his line is sterling silver rather than the gold his competition was then utilizing. For me, as a collector of black hills....and now this....the other striking difference lies in his more sharp lines. the sharpness of the lines grabs the light so it has more sparkle than the other. ok
I love them both. Maybe ataste thing but if you look at the pictures here, the leaves glitter amazingly. It's more bold than the other line and the forms are more sharply done. This particular piece has a delicate gold wash over it. You will most likely have to see it to believe it. Most often jewelers tend to plate their rings with the heavy 18 kt. This ring is not so deeply colored...relying on a more sheer, fluid cover giving it again a unique feel. It's such a a striking piece, it could easily become your personal statement piece at a reasonably inexpensive price point....
which is the charm of it. Beautiful and breathtaking...it is real jewelry and not costume....but at a reasonable price.
I included a photo of it on my hand only to show perspective. 😌
