Charming 1920s dress and jacket set. Not quite a navy blue, more of a darkest teal color really. Cotton velvet. The dress is sleeveless with a tulip hem and a V neck. Snaps on the side. No label. The jacket is open in front and has snaps at the wrist.
Excellent vintage condition. For its age. There's a small hole at the bottom of the side opening of the dress and one missing snap, but otherwise structurally its near mint. The only other thing to note is that this must have had some lace or other type of trim that has been removed. So, the edges where it was are unfinished but otherwise sound.
Measurements when lying flat. Doubled at bust, waist and hip
Dress:
Armpit to armpit across bust: 37"
Waist: approx. 33"
Hips: free up to about 47"
Shoulder to waist: approx 15"
Shoulder to bottom hem: approx. 36"
Jacket:
As its open in front I just measured armpit to armpit across the back: 20"
Shoulder to bottom hem at side: 14"
Please note: These are vintage, preworn and/or preloved items. I do my utmost best to list any issues, but signs of wear should be expected, and there are occasionally small things I won't deem worthy of note. Please feel free to send me a missive with any questions. I'm truly happy to help in any way possible and I'm always up for a chat. Hi, I wear US women's sizes 2-4. I can tailor down up to 2 sizes. I imagine it's closer to a US 6. I'm having trouble believing the waist is 33inches and the armpit to armpit measurement is 20. Thank you. I'm also very interested in the Kiviette dress you have listed. I collect golden age Hollywood dresses from 1930s Travis Banton to 1950s designs such as made by Edith Head and Gloria Swanson. Never owned a Kiviett but I am fascinated with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Best, Lucy.

I just meant can you confirm is this 1920s dress a US size 6 or is it bigger? If it's bigger than a 6 I am only interested in the Kiviette as I cannot tailor it down to my size. Thanks I will stay in touch

@charleston20s Hello, I only just saw these comments as this is an inactive acct. I apologize. My normal account Toadstoolfarmvintage is a better place to reach me and both pieces are listed there as well. If you're still interested here are the answers to your questions:
1) The jacket is 20" across the back from armpit to armpit, NOT all the way around. Because its open in the front.

@charleston20s 2) 2) Vintage sizing is so very different that I won't give number sizes for any item as its really just best to go off measurements. So with this piece its very loose in the waist as most 20s items were so it'd be best to go off the bust measurement for proper fit for you. So thats 37" all round. Not 20". I think you just misinterpreted my measurements.
Hope this all helps. Let me know if you're still interested. TY.
