These porcelain canisters were made in pre-war Japan (as far as I can tell), and were hand painted and covered with a uranium-containing glaze that is on all sides, including the interior and the bottom. The uranium glows a beautiful green under 365nm UV light, which is what I used in the photos.
They can be nested inside each other when empty, or, due to the flat lids with recesses lids, they can be stacked.
The larger is 5"wide and 5" tall, the medium is 4.25" wide and 3.5" tall, and the smaller is 3" wide and 2" tall.
The smaller has a thin crack on the lid, and the medium one has what appears to be an ink stain inside. They all have checking (crackling) in the glaze, which is normal for old glazed pottery. I have tried to show these all in the photos.
