This bowl is almost 100 years old! It is still in fantastic condition for its age. It’s still vibrant and glossy!
The story of Knowles collector plates began in 1854, when family members formed the Knowles, Taylor & Knowles ceramic company in the town of East Liverpool, Ohio. Knowles designs revolutionized the field of ceramic production and proved particularly popular through the '60s, at which point production ceased.
This bowl was made between 1930-1935. It is semi-vitreous China and like Fiesta, but not quite. This in particular has a different glaze than traditional Fiesta. To he companies shared decals and shapes, but not glazes back then. Companies used the same colors but not exact on earthenware.
