!!Vintage 1938-1956, Guardian Service Cookware Saucepan / Pot / Bowl. Thick, hammered aluminum cookware with a silvery, pebbled finish. This size typically used for vegetables. Known for safe and efficient cooking on stovetop and in the oven, and even, thorough cooking. Guardian Service Cookware was made by Century Metalcraft Corp. of Los Angeles from 1938 to 1956 when a fire closed the company. It was sold exclusively by independent salespeople in demonstrations, home parties and even door-to-door. A saleswoman might host a party where dinner was prepared and served in the chic, new Guardian Service. In 1953 Ohio, a door-to-door salesman told my Mom that he'd be back at 5pm to make a ham dinner for our family of five. He did, it was delicious, and Mom bought a whole set! She loved it! This pan is pre-owned in very good condition. It could use a good scrub. Some very minor marks and scratches, consistent with age and normal use. Approximately 7 ⅞ in round diameter X 3 ⅜ in tall.
