Vintage 1940s 1950s black velvet Lilli Ann peplum skirt suit

🚨 LILLI ANN ALERT 🚨 So, this gorgeous 1950s Lilli Ann suit has been sitting in my closet unworn (oh so unfairly!) for too long now because it is too big for me, and rather than alter it, I feel it’s best to release her to a lady with the correct measurements to give her some much needed love and wearing! She is the most sumptuous inky black velvet (feels like silk velvet). Jacket featured a notched curved lapel, princess seaming, notched sleeve cuffs, and flattering peplum silhouette the brand is known for. Skirt has a very subtle scalloped yoke at the top and a flared a line hem. “A original from Lilli Ann of San Francisco” brand label is intact, and there is also an inner catch stitched label that reads “Alexander’s Norfolk VA”. Pictures for some reason are making it appear faded (especially at the buttons) but this is still quite rich and dark. NOTE: there are a few nicks in the inner lining by the neck label, and the skirt button has a little abrading (please see photos). One of the jacket buttons is a bit loose, but I’d be happy to sew this on tighter for you (I am a trained sewist). None of these affect the wearability and the integrity of this suit.
