Vintage 1940s Cordey China - Lady Bust Figurine

Vintage 1940s Cordey China Lady Bust Figurine Numbered 5002 This is a lovely figural bust or figurine of a lady, made by the Cordey China Company. Cordey was founded in 1942 by artist Boleslaw Cybis with two partners. Cordey marketed their products as giftware of high quality through retailers such as B Altman, Wanamaker’s and Macy’s. This bust is hand marked on the underside with 5002 / 143, but also impressed into the ceramic with additional words/numbers that are not legible. This lady has coil hair style with four purple flowers on the side of her head, and two similar flowers with leaves at her bust. She measures 5 3/4” height and 3 1/4” by 2 7/8” across the base. Note two issues with this figurine: Front "Cordey" sticker is partially ripped on the right side. And the top right of her dress is chipped (see last photo)
