Vintage 1940s pair of made in occupied Japan wall plaques depicting a colonial or Victorian man and woman in nature, courting couple. The man is resplendent in a long coat tail type coat, his hat is off and he's bowing to the lady. He has a cane in the one hand and a big puffy bow decorating his neck. The lady is curtsying and she has a basket of flowers in her left hand she stands under a tree. The plates are 3-D and the upper torso of the figures juts out from the plane of the plate. They have a little strings in the back and are ready to hang. Marked made in occupied Japan on back.
Would make nice gift for a ceramic anniversary, wedding gift, housewarming gift, Valentine's Day gift, engagement party decor.

Condition: very good vintage condition. Painted and molded skillfully. The Lady plate has two small chips on the edge mostly hidden in the back. See photos.
