Vintage 1940s Stapler Art Deco Speed Products Long Island 6"
In 1939 the Parrot Speed Fastener Company changed its name to Speed Products Company and created the first top-opening stapler, allowing easy refilling of a full strip of staples. In 1956 the company was renamed Swingline.
Good vintage condition. Some wear due to age and use, most notably the rubber top to press down has become dried and cracked. It is not brittle, and the stapler functions as intended. The small metal plate where the stapler comes down is adjustable to provide two alternative placements of the bent staples on the back. See photos for details.
Approximately 6" long, 2" wide and 4" tall.
