This is a lovely pair of vintage yellow enamel flower earrings with early wingbacks patented by Judith McCann in 1947. The flowers have faux pearl beads in the center, and there are signs of wear and age. There is some enamel loss on the petal tips of both earrings, and there some green tarnish on the backs. The flowers look to have a brass base metal, and only the hooks are marked "Ster." on the back, presumably for sterling. Overall, the pair are still in very good shape.
These are marked Pat. 2414382, which was granted to McCann on January 14, 1947.
For those unfamiliar with wingback earrings, these were designed for a comfortable fit. The backs slip upwards onto the lobe, and the bent top hooks into the hollow curve of the ear.
