Vintage 1950’s Halloween Scaredy Cat Wood Cut Out, Hand Painted, Howling, Black

Amazing vintage 1950’s hand-painted, wood cut-out scaredy cat lawn ornament. The cat is howling in fright with a bright orange, jack-o-lantern-effect mouth with pointy white teeth. He is all black, with yellow sunset eyes. The whiskers and outline stand out with complimentary green, jagged highlighting. He has yellow claws and he is ready to tango! Found at an estate sale with much midcentury decor. Size: Cat Only- 22” x 8” x 0.4”. Stake Length (measured from base down)- 10.75” Condition: Overall good vintage condition for a 70+ y.o. Lawn ornament. The wood grain in back shows non-structural small cracks. The stake is bent but still functional. Buyer may prefer to hammer out the bend but be gentle with it as the screws can be loosened from the wood (wood is only 0.4” thick). The paint shows linear loss along the wood grain separation and occasional chipping scattered throughout. Fully functional but treat with care to preserve for many more years. Might be better off used on a porch or inside, especially if rain and moisture in your climate. NPK- (psh)
