Vintage 1950s Lord & Taylor Newton Elkin's Satin Crystal Lace Pumps

Partnership between Lord & Taylor's, America's first and oldest department stores, and Newton Elkins Shoe Company resulted in pieces of wearable art. Exhibits of pristine examples can be found today at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and The Met. This pair, most likely purchased for $38 in the 1960s (approx. $325.00 in todays value) were worn by a resident of high society from Chestnut Hill, PA. The soles are scuffed, but the heel top pieces are in excellent condition. Some yellow discoloration in the crystals due to age.
