EUC! Only “flaw” is a small spot on one of the front pockets, but I think you could get it out with a leather cleaner. Truly excellent condition given that this is over 70 years old. Metal still looks great, leather is still supple and in excellent condition. Collector’s quality—pristine condition! Most of the others I’ve seen from this time period are much more stained and tarnished. Olive green. Genuine vintage. Comes with vest and chaps!
Sears, Roebuck and Company manufactured our child’s cowboy chaps and vest during the 1950s. During that time TV Westerns such as Hopalong Cassidy, Gunsmoke, Cheyenne, The Lone Ranger and The Rifleman dominated American television and helped define post-World War II American culture. Sears and other toy companies could hardly keep pace with the demand for “cowboy, cowgirl and Indian” costumes, hand guns, and rifles, canteens, thermoses, books, and games as well as all the accessories that went with the wholesale creation of a powerful marketing myth. Justifiably criticized since for stereotyping white and Native American society, many early TV Westerns also promoted racial equality and were infused with a sense of civic responsibility and humanitarianism -- teaching the value of honesty, integrity, and hard work. Our unisex outfit is made of brushed green rawhide with metal trim and fittings.
Great for Halloween, themed photo shoots, film, or a dress up/ play outfit!
