Vintage 1950's Swan Salt Cellar

Here is a beautiful vintage glass swan salt cellar with silver plated articulating wings (EP Zinc). Measures 3 1/2” tall. Use of salt cellars is documented as early as classical Rome. They continued to be used through the first half of the 20th century; however, usage began to decline with the introduction of free-flowing salt in 1911, and at last they have been almost entirely replaced by salt shakers. This salt swan is in good vintage condition with light patina, a great collectable or could even be used for decor at a wedding or event. ——- Although we try to give an accurate description, remember, this is a vintage item and there may be small imperfections from age or flaws from production that we have not noticed or noted in the comments.
