This interesting vase shape was popular in the late 1950s when figurative flower vessels were all the rage. This form of vase was made by several American pottery companies in glazes ranging from realistic to fanciful like this one with it's green and burgandy/brown variegated glaze. At 8.5" tall but narrow, this vase hold a single large bloom or a wee bouquet, but also is a great decorative object when it's empty.
