Vintage 1950s taffeta beaded cocktail dress with fishtail train. Size small

This champagne colored 3/4 sleeve 1950s dress is pure elegance. Very Elizabeth Taylor. In fact, I bet it was someone’s very tasteful second wedding dress. ;) The fishtail train in the back gives it a bombshell shape. Unfortunately I don’t have the bod to fill out the bodice, but don’t let that (or my lazy steam job) detract you! There are belt loops on the sides but no belt. I’d do a tonal grosgrain ribbon or taffeta sash with a bow in the back to accentuate the volume from the train. The fabric is a heavy silk taffeta, I believe. No size or care labels - this was handmade/couture. Some subtle watermark type stains which don’t detract from wear. See pictures. Measurements lying flat: Pit to pit: 16” but the pleating and darts allow for a lot more room in the bust. It’s very baggy on me. Waist: 13.5” Hips: 17.5” Overall length from top of shoulder to hem: 47”
