Vintage mid century miniature teak elephant distributed by the Zoo-Line Company of Los Angeles but made in Japan. These were sold as souvenirs at zoos and came with their own matchboxes originally. This elephant has lost his matchbox, but is in very good condition for age - no evidence of glue or repairs. This is rare for the elephant, whose trunk and tusks are notoriously fragile and is often broken. He has metal spring joints at shoulders and hips, and retains his original chain, that would have attached to a pin. He measures approximately 2.5 inches tall from a "seated" position. He has been in my collection of teak animals for years and I'm finally 'thinning the herd' now (see additional listings)!
