This is like the one your dad had, or maybe your dad's dad. Or maybe your mom, or her mom. It is as close as I could find to the one my parents had in the 70s. This thing is SUPERB. It makes delicious traditional (not Belgian) waffles, and if you flip the plates over (do this while cold, obviously!), incredible pressed grilled cheese. It is perfect for any pressed hot sandwich, including Cubanos! You've not had truly great grilled cheese until you've made it with this thing. I no longer eat waffles (*sigh*), so it has to go. I am hopeful it goes to someone who is in search of an awesome old-school waffle maker, like I was. If that's you, your search is over. This is the one, I promise. They really just don't make them like they used to. Please note that while it definitely works, and works well, it is old, and does not have a polarized plug (please make sure you plug any older appliance into a GFCI-equipped outlet). Also, be warned: like all waffle makers, it gets really hot! Could benefit from a good cleaning. I was going to do it myself and list it for $99, but if you're willing to do it yourself, you can save a few bucks. Weighs 8-9 lbs. Price is FIRM (costs me a lot more to ship) and this item cannot be bundled with other items. The photos are an integral part of this listing. Please examine them closely to make sure the item is in acceptable condition before purchasing. If you do not buy this amazing old school waffle maker, please share my listing! Thanks! :) -Matt

mattca01 Btw, if you're interested, I've made this recipe with this: Alton Brown's Cuban Sandwich with a twist (the twist is turkey!). https://altonbrown.com/recipes/cuban-sandwich/
