Vintage 1960s I. Magnin Moygashel Linen Mod Shift Dress with Giant Button

I love this dress- the color, the cut, and that amazing button! It isn’t perfect, and is priced accordingly. Dress features: Loose boxy fit Step-in, or pull on over your head Approx. knee length Fantastic chartreuse Moygashel linen Large 2 1/4” plastic (lucite?) button closure 4 hidden covered snaps to secure the front Large patch pocket on right side Full lining in a silky (unknown) fabric Princess seaming and bust darts A “train” or “cape” length of fabric that comes off the back of the dress starting below the armholes and extending to the same length as hem (see photos) Dress is in fair vintage condition. There are discolorations throughout the linen that you may or may not be able to remove, including under the armholes. There is wear to the right armhole lining that has resulted in a hole that you may wish to mend. It doesn’t show when worn (see photo). A small area of wear to linen on top of left shoulder by the armhole. I can envision someone putting embroidery of some sort (perhaps flowers or geometric shapes) over the spots they can’t get out to “upcycle” it and make it fantastic again! Tags say: I. Magnin & co.. Crease resisting Moygashel Reg. all linen woven in Ireland. Measurements are taken with the garment lying flat and doubled as appropriate. Measurements are of the garment itself, and the fabric is NOT stretchy. Bust measured just below the armholes at the wides part: 37” Waist: 37” Hips: 37” Overall length from center top of shoulder to hem: 36.5”
