Vintage, 1968 “The Coming Collecting Boom” by John Mebane in hardcover with dust jacket. Book is chock-full of grey-scale images of antiques. It attempts to prospect the future. Would be an interesting, in-hind-sight, read! Was Mr Mebane right on most counts? The items he was describing may not have been 100 years old in 1968 but they certainly are now! The waves of collecting and what is in vogue have been up and down many times since he wrote the book. However, most of these items would now be true antiques and as thus would retain some value regardless of the market. This book is also a good reference manual to have in ones arsenal when attempting to identify that illusion piece. Size: 320 pages. 10.5” x 7.25” x 1” Condition: Good vintage condition. Dust jacket has some dots and foxing scattered throughout. It did a good job protecting the hardcover binding underneath- a rust colored cover. The pages inside are crisp with distinct printing and images but do have a mild yellowing consistent throughout. Old book smell. NPK-28(psh)
