Carol Dauplaise is one of my favorite designers. Innovative and stylish, not to mention a never go out of style true investment.
This necklace, likely from the ‘70s when turquoise was all the rage, and it is today as well! This is made from Kingman Turquoise nuggets mixed with gold colored bead separators, measuring 34” long and 66g.
The classic clasp, easy to slip in and out of without ever coming loose while wearing it, is signed in block letters: Dauplaise.
Carol Dauplaise started her career as a receptionist in NYC for Miriam Haskell. Carol Dauplaise, Ltd. is a New York-based costume jewelry company established in the 1970s. The brand is widely known and was marketed by multiple retailers around the United States. Vintage pieces made during the ’80s and ’90s fall into the category of mid-range in terms of collectability. Most items are still very wearable today.
