Hi does this dress have a label and how do you know it's from 1971 ?

@recycleretro This one does have a label...Jonathan Logan . I also added a picture of me in this dress...I am 63 now...I graduated in 1972...Outside of that , I guess you will just have to trust/believe me.

So are all the vintage dresses yours that you wore in the early 1970s
Aug 24Reply

spiderwebcloset
@recycleretro Yes ...the dresses and prom dresses and shoes were mine...the clutch gator purse and one of the minks were my grandmothers. I have a number of things left that I just have not made the time to list as well.

@spiderwebcloset it's also so cool that you kept your clothing from when your young and in high school and you kept that history with you

@recycleretro I kept my favorite things ,along with the great memories I had in high school.. I always thought my daughter would appreciate them one day, but turns out , not so much.. She did wear my things when she was in high school for 70's week.

@spiderwebcloset how many pieces do you think you have in all
Aug 24Reply

recycleretro
@spiderwebcloset I'm thinking about bundling some of them because they have history behind them and it's awesome. My mom is 57 and she kept some clothing from when she was young

@recycleretro I agree I love hearing the story behind the dress! Love your items @spiderwebcloset ! Would you provide the measurements for bust (pit to pit) and waist?
Aug 19Reply

spiderwebcloset
@cali_gal From armpit to armpit is 17 1/2 inches...This dress does not have a true waist for is an empire waist...Guessing for the actual waist is 14 inches.

@ladytori75 Thank you! I have saved and hauled all my memories across the country with every move. I guess 50 years are long enough even though the memories are are still alive and well.

@vickysecretpink I kept them for the memories for a very long time. Now my daughter nor grand daughters care anything about them. Although they did go thru my closet when it was 70's week at school !

@kristiems Thank you ! That's me in 1973. I only know that for a fact , because our son had just been born. I wore this dress while in high school plus years after.
