Vintage 1980's Hand Carved Ironwood Conch Seashell Sculpture

This 1980's Ironwood hand carved conch seashell is beautifully done, It is made out of a dense wood called ironwood - one of the heaviest woods in the world. The wood grains are dark and beautiful with great detailing. It is a very attractive display piece to add to your seashell or wood carving collection. It is in very good condition for its age (about 40 years old) no chips, cracks or breaks. The surface is very smooth, the small tip is a bit rough which is how it came. It was a gift from Mexico to my late mother-in-law from her brother. Ironwood comes from Mexico and the south west US. As you can see by the pictures it is approximately 8" x 3" x 3". If you like Ironwood carvings I will be adding to my closet a cactus, a giraffe, and a diving bird in the near future.
