Vintage 1980’s Jack Daniel Frank Bobo Signed Personal Letter Field Tester Card History
"Whiskey Made As Our Father's Made It"
Lem Motlow Proprietor
Lynchburg, Tennessee
Fantastic collector’s item.
The content is fabulous and the stationary and envelop are stunning in black and gold:
Dear Ms. Laube:
I am proud to enclose the little card you see and to welcome you as a Jack Daniel’s Field Tester.
There’s nothing really very official about this little organization. It’s our small attempt to thank you for your interest in our distillery and the product that we make. Be assured there are no obligations or dues. It does allow us, however, to keep in touch with us and our other friends around the country who appreciate our old-time methods of whiskey-making.
Historically speaking, Ms. Laube, there have been only nine head distillers here in Jack Daniel’s Hollow. There was Dan Call in 1866, a preacher who was Jack Daniel’s first business partner. Then came Nearest Gren, Bill Hughes, Frank Motlow, John Tolley, Jess Motlow, Lem Tolley, Jess Gamble, and now me.
But no matter who’s been in charge of making Jack Daniel’s, we’ve never strayed from the original way of making it. Lem Tolley always said, “You don’t trade a pulling’ mule” and I guess most everyone in our Hollow still goes along with that.
Ms. Laube, since you have an interst in Jack Daniel’s, would you consider a visit to our distillery sometime soon?
