Vintage 1988 1st edition "Under the Sunday Tree" poetry book with illustrations by Mr. Amos Ferguson and poetry by Eloise Greenfield. Mr Amos Ferguson was a Bahamian award-winning artist that had a documentary made about him. His painting style is colorful, exuberant and full of vitality and movement. He has a color-blocking, primitive style with seemingly pared-down shapes and lines that move and shimmer on closer reflection. This particular book won three awards, including the coveted Coretta Scott King Honor (1989) for illustration. Nice addition for a Black History Month memorabilia collection. Size: 39 pages. 10.25" x 8.3" x 0.25" Condition: Very good vintage condition (almost fine). Dust jacket has mild signs of use with milf crinkling of top edge.
