Vintage 1992 2-pc evening gown & jacket set by Karen Lawrence by Matthew. Sz 12

Absolutely stunning outfit! Worn once, by my mother, at my wedding in 1992. Classic style gown and jacket are fully lined and seamed all around to create a beautiful fit. The timeless, classic gown has spaghetti straps and glides against the body, but it’s not tight or too closely form fitting. It’s a hint of sexy but completely elegant, and appropriate for any formal event. The V-shaped crystal ornamentation adds just enough eye-catching shine. The kick pleat in back comes up just to the back of the knee. (There is one single crystal missing from the ornament. It can easily be replaced or the entire piece can be removed and/or replaced.) The jacket length hits just above the hip. The sleeves and front panels have widely and equally-spaced clear crystals in diagonal rows. Just enough to add interest but not look like a disco ball 🪩. The jacket lining dips down behind the neck and is sewed down to prevent bunching when worn under a coat. The lining is also sewed down at the cuff to prevent bunching when removing the jacket. Wear the gown with or without the jacket…or substitute one of your own! it’s a classic so it’s incredibly versatile. The outfit was dry cleaned and then stored in a cotton dust bag in my Mom’s closet. Sleeves have been stuffed with tissue paper to prevent creasing. Non-smoking, pet-free home.
