When it says "signed" I mean the original owner, little 6yo. Duane, signed his name to the front cover. Someone then erased it, presumably because these books were shared between students.
He did seem to use his self-control and only scribbled on only the front inside page, but the lack of marks might also be because he only did one of the exercises in here. Maybe he said "phooey to phonics" and just left the book in his desk for the rest of the year? Who knows.
The book looks great for a paperback book that's been sitting around for 60 years though. Just some lightly discolored spots here and there and the corners of the spine are a little worn. I've included pictures of the marks in and on the books (only 2 pages plus the little guy's name on the front top)
All pages are present and intact. A great little piece of American educational history.
