These beautiful cufflinks belonged to my Grandfather, they were a gift to him from his parents & extended family in the late 1930's.
The gift was for his help moving the family around after "The Great Flood" swallowed up part of upstate NY in 1937.
Grandpa wore these for some Sunday services but they were mostly just kept safe in a small trinket box next to his bed.
The cufflinks have oval frames with beautiful scripted initials in the center, initials were not of my Grandpa's but of the gift giver.
Their tops have a 'beaded' dot outline around the script and the backsides are stamped with the maker's brand - WCG Clark & Co
Both backs have a firmly sealed cufflink stem allowing you to easily slide the cufflink into place.
When laid flat [upside down] the backs have a bend in their formation - the metal's not flimsy.
They could be used as cufflinks or a pretty button hole filler. I had always intended to frame them & turn them into a ring or pendant but after 30 yrs that project's yet to come to fruition
