Vintage 50-60s Handbag Box Purse by Gaymode Coated Natural Wicker w/ Gold-tone

This is a striking and collectible box bag style purse, circa 1950-60s, in a coated wicker. It features wide wicker straps in a natural or cream color (AKA light beige) strips woven together. It is accented by gold-tone hardware and a thick plastic top handle and a circular clasp. The bag is lined in an off-white grosgrain fabric with a slip pocket. It is branded Gaymode; the country of origin is not legible on the frayed brand label. The handbag measures approx. 8.25” x 5.5”x 4.” Very good vintage used condition; it has scratches on the hardware and plastic handle and a production (?) dark mark near a grommet on the backside and a few similar marks along the front (see photos). The interior has dust and grime from use and years of storage and small separation tears along the seams.
