Vintage 50’s Era Day Dress Gidget, Doris Day Donna Reed

This sweet little pale blue dress could be worn with saddle shoes and bobbie socks, or a white belt, heels, and a strand of pearls. The sad thing about vintage clothes is that you just don’t know how the people who owned the wore them. I always wonder, don’t you?? This dress is made of cotton satteen, so there’s a pretty sheen to it. As with any garment this age, there are a few minor issues to note. There’s an area near the waistline where the zipper has come loose. The fabric is not damaged in any way, so a few small stitches will put it right again. There is a very small mark on the skirt that appears to be ink. I did manage to lighten it a bit. Otherwise, it’s in very good condition. (The zipper is fully functional, the dress is just a bit too small for my mannequin). There is no label and I suspect it is handmade, so please refer to measurements if you plan to wear it.
