Vintage 50's Matisse Pink Pebble and Copper Swoop Link Choker Collar Necklace

This exquisite vintage 1950's copper necklace features pink crushed underfired glass in a swooping shape with a copper curved link on top. There are a few areas where some of the pebble is worn thin. Incredible Mid-Century Modern Art design on this signed Matisse necklace. The crushed pink enamel is supposed to represent the foam on the waves when they crash into the beach. Matisse named this California Dreamin’ & it is meant to be a reminder of wonderful, carefree times spent with friends and family. The approximate length of the necklace is 18" including the extension chain which allows the wearer to adjust from choker to collar as desired. My sister-in-law was an avid collector of so many things, jewelry was just one category. She knew everything about each and every one of her pieces but unfortunately she is no longer able to tell us. I'm not an expert - I just offered to help find new homes for her beloved pieces. This is a vintage piece and has evidence of wear that is appropriate for its age.
