Vintage 60's Party Dress Ann Fogarty Silver Metallic Rhinestones Sleeveless S

Spectacular 1960s designer dress by Anne Fogarty. sShimmery, silver metallic thread bedazzled with rhinestones. The rhinestones that go around the waist has a mesh lining so that your belly can show through, how sexy is that! Low cut V front. Zipper on the back for closure. Very excellent condition. Not dry cleaned. The inside lining, as you can see under one of the arm does has some discoloration but it is not noticeable from the outside of the dress. Lined with a very light acetate in a light gray. 40 " long 14 " arm circumference 18 " bust flat 13 " waist flat I believe at some point this dress was shortened, hence the uneven cut on the underlining fabric. If you are not familiar with this fashion designer it is worth looking up. She started her design career in 1948 working for the Youth guild. In 1950, she went to work for Margot, incorporated. Her dresses commonly had fitted bodices and full skirts with crinolins, but after 1956, her look Changed some what, with longer, straighter skirts. Fogarty began doing designs exclusively for Saks Fifth Avenue and 1957. In 1962 she opened her own design house, and Fogarty incorporated. in the '60s, the empire style of dress was a Fogarty favorite.
