Hand woven wool pullover from the highlands in Chiapas, Mexico, this Indigenous Maya garment was made for the tourist market with incredible workmanship. Features red and dark brown geometric brocade on the front and an embroidered multicolor diamond pattern collar. Darker fibers have been woven throughout, along with slubs or small knots/bumps; these intentional irregularities are part of the weaving process and add to the unique, one-of-a-kind charm of this piece.
