Vintage Hanae Mori. This is probably the most stunning piece I've seen from her collection. Her vision of east meets west is captured beautifully with the colors and structure of this coat. It is solid silk, from top to bottom, inside and out and incredibly heavy. That alone tells you how much silk was put into designing this coat. A rich decadent gold Paulownia and Chrysanthemum crest print brocade on the vivid red. But the work of art is the neckline and front lapel. Ten sumptuous rows of trim inside two wide lapels similar to the Junihitoe 12 layers of a kimono. The thickness of the fabric gives it the stand out look. Sleeves are flared. Lined in red silk.
